Please allow me to express my great concern about the situation of the 40 year old Nigerian
 
SULIAMON OLUFEMI

SULIAMON OLUFEMI is currently detained in Dhaban prison outside Jeddah, southwestern Saudi Arabia. He continues to maintain his innocence. 

SULIAMON OLUFEMI was among hundreds of immigrants from Somalia, Ghana and Nigeria detained in mass arrests in September 2002, following a dispute which resulted in the death of a Saudi Arabian policeman. SULIAMON OLUFEMI, who maintains his innocence, was subsequently sentenced to death after an unfair trial. 
SULIAMON OLUFEMI, and some of the other men arrested with him, have said that they were tortured and otherwise ill-treated during interrogation and were forced to put their thumbprints as their signature on a statement in Arabic, a language which they could not read, and which was referred to as a ‘confession’.

Eleven other Nigerian nationals were each sentenced in the same case to 15 years in prison and 1,000 lashes were released from Dhaban prison on 19 April 2017.
After they were released, these 15 men were deported to Nigeria.

I urge your Excellency to to quash the conviction of SULIAMON OLUFEMI, and order a retrial in line with international fair trial standards without recourse to the death penalty. I ask you also to grant him regular access to a lawyer of his choice.
