Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Office of the Prime Minister 3 Kaplan Street Hakirya Jerusalem 91950 ISRAEL Heerhugowaard, datum Dear Prime Minister, I am writing you as a person who is also in his own country concerned with the respect of Human Rights. Please allow me to express my concern about te situation of the hamlets HUMSA and HADIDIYA On November 25, 2015 the Israeli army dug up a road that had been recently paved to allow residents easier access to the hamlet Hadidiya. The next day the Israeli army destroyed 14 structures, affecting 15 people, including 4 minors in the village. The demolitions also left many animals without shelter. On November 28 and again on November 30 the authorities returned to confiscate a number of tents that had been provided to the community by aid organisations in the wake of the November 26 demolitions. This was followed again by the confiscation of tents on December 2 and 9. The Israeli High Court of Justice ordered a temporary injunction on December 10, 2015 prohibiting the Israeli authorities from carrying out any further demolitions. On December 30 the military agreed with the court that they would not carry out any demolitions. In spite of that, the first three months of 2016, the Israel army has undertaken a massive campaign of demolitions throughout the West Bank. This campaign left 19 people homeless, including six children, just before the onset of the coldest part of the winter. I am deeply concerned too about the inhabitants of the hamlets Hadidiya and Humsa, because these where taken away the few basic needs such as clean drinking water. They are not allowed to be connected to the grid or even drill their new wells. Their property such as a tractor when they go to fetch water elsewhere is taken away too. I urge you to place a moratorium on house demolitions in the West Bank, specially Hadidiya and Humsa according the order of the Israeli High Court of Justice. The Palestinian villagers should be allowed to move freely within the Jordan Valley and between their villages and the rest of the West Bank. Thank you for your attention in this important matter, and I am looking forward to your reply and positive news. Yours sincerely and respectfully, (handtekening + naam en adres) The Netherlands
